There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”—Ernest Hemingway

My name is Rosa Chillis, and I write self-improvement e-books, which are informal guides for people seeking to improve the quality their lives.

You have the power to change yourself if this is your desire. In my e–books you will find inspiration and the practical advice to help you do so; I do not make grandiose promises, but rather adopt realistic expectations about your chances for improvement.

I’ve always had a passion for helping people reach their full potential—to be the best they can be. I began this journey as an adjunct faculty at Wayne State University where I taught public speaking, and voice & articulation at the local community college. At both these locations, I met many people stuck in their careers because of their manner of speech.

For instance, I met Harold, a customer service representative who had the habit of dropping his word endings and saying “ax” instead of “ask”; he could not get a promotion because according to Harold’s boss he sounded “unintelligent.”

Or Sally, the new supervisor with six people reporting to her who lost control of her department because she had a soft, weak, and high-pitched voice—interpreted as a lack of confidence; thus she could not command respect.

As a result, I published my first book titled Your Voice Is Your Image (1999); updated as an e-book titled Your Voice Is Your Image: 4 Ways to Improve Your Speaking Voice (2007). In fact, my first book was recognized by Writer’s Digest 1999 National Self-Published Book Awards: “Great exercises for people to take control of how they want their voices to sound.”

I’ve gone on to write other e-books related to career development and self-improvement: 12 Amazing Job Search Strategies for Women: How to Find the Career You Want (2013); What Every Unemployed Woman Over 50 Should Know: 17 Success Strategies to Land Your Next Job (2008).

In addition to possessing an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology, I’m a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) through the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE). I’ve devoted the past 20 plus years to teaching, training, mentoring, and coaching amazing employees and students. And I’ve loved every minute!

Today I have a publishing company, Adasane & Associates, Inc., where I enjoy writing career-related and self-improvement e-books that I publish on Kindle I also write articles that I publish to Web sites, such as and
